At the Lehigh Gap Nature Center, we believe that the work we are doing is important
enough to share with our members, our community, and our fellow wildlife
advocates. For this reason, we publish two regular journals--the Wildlife
Activist and the American Hawkwatcher. We also have authored two
handbooks--the Kittatiny Raptor Corridor Handbook and the Bake Oven Knob Hawk

Wildlife Activist (ISSN
0894-4660) is published three times per year and is the main
publication and newsletter for the general membership. Along with
the feature articles, each issue includes News from the Kittatinny
Raptor Corridor Project,
Wildlife Notes, and an extensive section called
Wildlife Book Reviews.

American Hawkwatcher (ISSN
0748-8319) is a scientific journal reporting on the long term Bake
Oven Knob Hawk Count research project. It also includes other
articles and
short field notes related to hawks in the Western Hemisphere.
American Hawkwatcher is published annually in December or January.

Lehigh Gap Update is published
twice annually (Summer/Fall and Winter/Spring) for "Friends of the
Lehigh Gap Wildlife Refuge." The newsletter keeps "Friends" up to
date on the progress of the Lehigh Gap Restoration Project and keeps
them informed about events and activities at the Refuge. See the

The Kittatinny Raptor Corridor Handbook is an
educational resource for schools in the Raptor Corridor area. It
contains short bulletins arranged in loose-leaf format.

Bake Oven Knob Hawk Count Protocol Guide
This brochure describes in detail the
techniques and methods used for our
Bake Oven Knob Hawk Count. Across the country, many
organizations rely on this guide as the basis for their hawk counts.
