Bake Oven Knob Hawk Count

The 2001 season began on 14 August and continued through 25 November. A total of 13,509 raptors were counted on 101 days and 801 hours of observation. Table 1 summarizes the count by species and month. The results of the count were also posted daily on Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology's BirdSource web site. When you visit the site, click on Bake Oven Knob to view our counts. Please note that the official count is the one published in American Hawkwatcher, available from the Wildlife Center.
